Charles G. Hurbis, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Board-certified Otolaryngologist since October 1990. US News Best Doctors in America for over a decade. Solo practitioner serving the Southern Oregon coast since 1991.
About Dr. Hurbis
Dr. Hurbis is one of Oregon's leading Otolaryngologists for nasal airway and sinus issues, and a provider of in-office Balloon Sinuplasty, for which he has extensive outside training with many of the world's leading experts.
He is one of the only solo practitioners in the bay area. He believes that the solo office provides for a more personal approach to patient care and dramatically cuts down on red tape for his patients.
Dr. Hurbis began practicing on the Oregon coast in 1991, following Otolaryngology residency training in Chicago, Illinois. In 1997, he established South Coast Ear, Nose, and Throat as a solo practice.
His newer interest in Balloon Sinuplasty stems from frustration over the lack of adequate treatments for a specific subset of patients. These patients suffer from problematic sinus symptoms but present with limited physical and radiographic findings. Medical treatment has failed to relieve their condition, yet they do not meet the standard criteria for traditional sinus surgery.
His areas of professional interest include the treatment of the nasal airway and management of the dysfunctional sinus. As the developer of the Monarch nasal implant for nasal valve dysfunction, he has served on many state and national panels on the topic of the nasal valve. He has published many research papers and presented internationally on these topics.
